My name is Paul and I live in Widnes, Cheshire just south of Liverpool with my wife and two daughters. I’ve been walking around the Lake District hills for nearly twenty years and the inspiration for this web site was to do something with the large amount of photographs I’ve amassed over the years. Many of them were taken before the advent of digital photography and as such aren’t really suitable for displaying on the internet but I’ve still got plenty of others which are!
You are welcome to download them and use them as you wish but if you post them anywhere please credit myself as the photographer and add a link back to this site. I don’t intend to post any descriptions of the walks which these photographs relate to, I don’t have the time for one thing and there are plenty of other sites which detail the Lakeland hills and how to get up and down them. You’ll usually find a comment with each photo but that’s about it.
Please note that the maps accompanying some of the photos are meant for information only and should not be printed to use on the fells. A relevant OS map along with a compass and the knowledge of how to use them should always be carried in the hills.
If you want to know more about some of the routes check out my blog HERE, I’ll be updating it after each new walk starting from March 2009. I don’t intend these to be walking guides but more a vague account of the days walk.
